I'm with my parents after leaving full time administration work to do a degree full-time from home with the Open University. We all want to move, but seem to be having great difficulty in finding an area with a decent house to match. We've never been to Swindon, but from what I've been able to find on the internet, it looks like a nice area, good-priced houses and nicer looking than what I've seen in the other places we've looked at. It's further away than where we've previously looked, 1.5 hr drive, and for my dad it looks like an impossibility to move that far away. It's not impossible, and it's not that far away, but at 60 and under pressure to find a nice area to suit everyone, I can see his point. I really think it'd be good for him to check it out though, so I'm going to take a drive over at some point this week and check Swindon out. If anyone lives there, or has been there, I'd be grateful if you could leave your thoughts on the area :o)
